It is compulsory for all students in Germany to take out a
health insurance. You have to proof that your health insurance
is valid before you can register at a university. The compulsory
health insurance is connected with a compulsory nursing insurance
(to cover the risk of being in need of care). Your health
insurance covers the risk of nursing at the same time.
